Auto Crash Kills Eight in Jigawa


A road accident that happened along Hadejia-Kano road in Kaugama Local Government Area of Jigawa has claimed the lives of not less than eight persons.

The spokesman of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in the state, Mr Adamu Abdullahi, said the accident happened on Sunday evening.

“Our men were returning from Hadejia when the accidents happened and they assisted in rescuing survivors and taking those who died on the spot to a nearby hospital,’’ Abdullahi said.

Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, has said that the Federal Government’s move to sell national asset in order to be able to meet the current economic situation is a greedy and selfish act.

Police In India Arrest Two Nigerian Fraudsters


A joint team of Delhi and Goa Police at the weekend arrested two Nigerian men Chukwuma Collins, 35, and Nicodemus Obinn, 27 for Fraud in India.

The duo who have been in India for five years disclosed during their confession that they have duped many using different schemes.

They get their victim by lying to them about the impoverish conditions of their family member after the victim sends them money they cut any contact with them.

Nigerian Army Destroys 143 Illegal Refineries In Niger Delta


About 143 illegal refineries have been destroyed by the Nigerian Army during its operation Crocodile Smile in the Niger Delta region.

This was made known by Brig-General Hassan Hamisu, a Brigade Commander, 2 Brigade, Port Harcourt at the barracks during the 56 independence anniversary in Rivers State.

Turkey Gov. Arrest 50 Nigerian Students

It has been reported that about 50 Nigerian students have been detained by the order of the Turkish government.

Majority of the detained students were from Fathi university, a university in Turkey alleged to be a terrorist school . The Fathi University was among the 2099 schools, dormitories and universities shut down in the wake of the July 15 failed coup in the country.

Lovers Steal ATM Card, Withdraw N300,000


Two lovers, Bamigboye Imoleayo (24) and her lover, Adeyinka Ayodele, have allegedly stole an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card, withdrew N300,000 from the account and went on a spending spree. Imoleayo and Ayodele, now in the custody of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Ikeja, Lagos State, reportedly stole the ATM card belonging to Musa Alli.

Man, Friend Arrested With Human Parts In Ogun (Photo)


Ogun State Police Command arrested a man, Wole Oke, 38, and his friend Wasiu Adesina, 30, for being in possession of human parts .

The duo were arrested at Ijebu, Idi-aro area of Abeokuta while policemen attached to Oke Itoku Division, led by the DPO, CSP Abeni Farinre, were on patrol.

Assassins Kill Pregnant Woman, Husband, Three Children


Assassins yesterday wiped out a family of five – a man, his six-month pregnant wife and three children – at Adegbose Estate Phase 2, Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos. The victims were identified as Mr. Kennedy Uzor, his wife, Mary, Uche (13 year-old daughter), Destiny (seven) and Mimi (three-year-old daughter). It was learnt that the assailants scaled the fence of the victims’ house, forced their way into their room and killed them in their sleep. Although those who evacuated the bodies said there were gunshot wounds on the bodies, sources in the community said they were stabbed to death. A neighbour, who did not want her name in print, said the death of the family came as a surprise.

A fully loaded commercial bus plunged into Iju River along Owode-Idiroko Road in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State yesterday.
The accident, which involved a white 18-seater passenger bus with registration number Epe 197 XG was said to have taken off from Sango and was heading towards Atan-Idiroko when the driver lost control and the bus plunged into the river about 10.45 am, the Sun reports.

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu State, have arrested a clearing and forwarding agent, who ingested 74 wraps of cocaine while on his way to China.

The suspect,47-year-old Adibe Baloba, was caught during outward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian airline flight to China.

On May 25, 2016, Ikenna Osuji, a student of the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, Imo State, who was working as a taxi driver along to finance his studies, met his death in the hands of kidnappers when he drove into a land where 30-year-old Chinedu Azuazu was a security guard.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that Ikenna was fairly known to Azuazu because he used to drive prospective land buyers to the large expanse of land guarded by Azuazu in his cab. But May 25 was the last day the young man would ever be seen alive. He drove into the land again that day and was never seen again.

Residents of Olakula area of Idiroko in Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State were left shocked on Wednesday as maggots dropped continuously from the private parts of a woman identified as Iya Toheeb.

The scene turned chaotic as residents trooped out to see the woman sat in a car with the assistance of family members and sympathisers.It was thought that she might have been a victim of money-making ritual after her condition allegedly defied orthodox medication.

3 Suspected Rapists Arrested For Impregnating 14-Year-Old Girl (Photo)


Three men have been arrested for allegedly raping and impregnating a 14-year-old girl in the Agric, Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

Punch learnt that the suspects – Kingsley Oke, Henry Osadere and Francis Ekwe – were arrested in the Majidun, Ikorodu area of Lagos State, before they were transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Ikeja.It was gathered that the suspects, who lived in the same area with the parents of the teenager, identified only as Ijeoma, allegedly raped the girl in August 2016, after the mother went for a vigil.

Prof. Musa Yakubu of University of Ilorin has said having sex in the early morning lowers blood pressure and reduces risks of heart attack.

Yakubu of the Department of Biochemistry made the assertion in a paper, “Knocking Down the Barriers to Four O’Clock Activities and Reproductive Inadequacies”, presented at the 163rd Inaugural lecture of the university on Friday.
