Driver Nabbed For Parading Self As Soldier, Duping Community Members

A 28-year-old driver, who paraded himself as a soldier and allegedly duped people in Offa, Kwara State, has been nabbed by men of the Nigerian Navy School of Health Sciences (NNHS) in the town.

The suspect, identified as Salami Olalekan Wuraola from Ondo State, said he got his illegal army uniform while cleaning a room that used to belong to his late brother.
But Commandant of the NNHS, Captain Ibrahim Nurudeen said the suspect was arrested along with a second person who, however, has an identity card of the Nigerian Army and a PASS and as such is being further probed to authenticate the genuineness of his documents.

Nurudeen said the two were arrested at the Offa branch of a bank while attempting to cash a cheque issued in their favour by a wealthy man in the community who, like some others had been told by the suspects that they had just secured employment into the Nigerian Army and needed assistance.

But Salami said he did not know the ‘influential man’ who gave the cheque and that it was the other solider that went to meet the victim.
