Vardy Targets Deadly Partnership With Musa At Leicester City

Leicester City's Jamie Vardy has stated he believes he can form a deadly partnership with Ahmed Musa as the Foxes begin their Premier League title defence.

Vardy, 29, played with Shinji Okazaki and Leonardo Ulloa last season, and he his convinced there will be no issues with working with the Nigerian international as well.
"He's quick, I've seen him before. I've watched in the Champions League at home when he played for CSKA Moscow and he always had that speed and obviously he can finish," Vardy told the Leicester Mercury.

There are already signs of a budding relationship with Musa's pressure on Marouane Fellaini leading to Vardy's goal in Sunday's Community Shield loss to Manchester United, something Vardy says will bring a new dimension to their attack.

"Hopefully, it will bring another aspect to our strike force.

"It is good having the competition. The more competition you've got the extra everyone puts in on the training field, wanting to get into the gaffer's plans. It can only benefit the squad.

"We had that the other year when people said I couldn't play up front with Leo, because we were too different. But obviously that was a load of rubbish.

"I can definitely play with him, you just both adapt. Nuge [David Nugent] was one of those who joined the midfield and attack, then you have Leo who is like the target man so I might drop in a bit.

"You have to constantly adapt, but that is what we do on the training field, you get to know each other and it becomes automatic."
