Authorities are investigating alleged child abuse after a father was spotted dragging his young daughter around a supermarket by her hair.
According to the New York Daily News a couple alerted police after they heard the little girl crying "Please stop. I promise I won't do it again. Please stop!"
Erika and Robert Burch say they saw a man dragging the child by her hair, which was wrapped around the top of his shopping trolley.
They confronted the man at the Walmart store in Cleveland, Texas, and told him to stop but claim he replied "I grew up just fine" and told them to mind their own business.
Erika posted pictures of the alleged abuse on Facebook where it has been shared more than 100,000 times.She explained the incident and noted that, once officers arrived, he said the father "has the right to discipline his children."
Authorities are reportedly investigating the incident as child endangerment.

Erika later told KTRK: "People are telling me I'm wrong for stepping up for this little girl, but you can discipline a child without dragging them by the hair on their head, especially in Walmart."
