An alleged supermarket 'thief' downed half a litre of vodka from a bottle on a shelf - then walked out of the shop without paying.
The 34-year-old suspect was seen on camera with the alcohol in his hand, before he necks over half its contents,newsvl.ru reports. He then replaced the lid on the bottle and placed it back on the shelf.The man was stopped at the door by security guards.
After being questioned by the guards, the man told them he was unaware of the incident and said the bottle of the shelf was already half empty.
The supermarket then called the police but the suspect managed to get away.The incident occurred at a store in Vladivostok, Russia.
