5 Foods To Avoid Before Sex

Certain foods have the ability to give you bad breath, or make you feel bloated and gassy. You certainly don’t want to make a run for the bathroom if your tummy starts making funny noises mid-action. We’ve rounded up five foods you must avoid at all costs if you plan on a nookie right afterwards. Thank us later!

Fries

Fries are packed with trans-fat and can adversely affect testosterone levels and circulation. The salt and oil can cause bloating, which in turn will make you feel lethargic and uncomfortable. Skip the potato one day, but if you just can’t, opt for a baked one.
Try this instead: A baked potato or mashed potatoes. Sweet potato fries are even more ideal.

Pizza

Pizza dough is made of wheat, which can cause some to feel bloated. The incredible amount of cheese in it doesn’t help either, as it leaves behind a peculiar taste and smell. All of this combined will make you feel sluggish, and that isn’t good for sexy-time, right?
Try this instead: Pasta in red sauce is a good option. Again, avoid the white sauce variety as the sauces are loaded with garlic and cheese.

Soda-based beverages

Any beverage that is bubbling over with soda is a strict no-no before sex. Drinking a pint of beer or aerated drinks will make you feel full and heavy. Don’t even get us started on the uncontrollable burps and that uncomfortable gassy feeling.
Try this instead: Wine! Wine is the answer to everything. Plain water works, too.

Beans

Beans contain a type of sugar that is not digestible. Steer clear of bean-based foods like tacos and burritos. You really don’t want to spend your time nursing a belly-ache due to all the gas. You will surely bloat up and feel gassy, which are not ideal conditions for a rough-and-tumble in bed.
Try this instead: Plain tortilla chips with a side of salsa are a delicious option.

Garlic

Garlic bread, or any food that contains garlic, leaves behind an off-putting scent that just doesn’t spell sexy. It’s a good idea to avoid any food that has a garlicky flavour, as the ingredient can also cause heartburn.
Try this instead: Plain Italian bread is a good option, if it is a bread-based meal.
