Chibok Girls: Buhari Meets Security Chiefs, May Adopt Political Solution

President Muhammadu Buhari met with security chiefs on Monday in Abuja to discuss the release of a new video on the Chibok schoolgirls by Boko Haram.
Though details of the meeting were not revealed, New Telegraph learnt that Buhari may seek a political solution to the lingering controversy over the continued incarceration of 218 Chibok schoolgirls by the sect.
The meeting also discussed Boko Haram’s offer to release the Chibok schoolgirls in exchange for its members in some Nigerian jails.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonishakin, said the sect’s offer would require a political decision.
He said the video was being studied and have the assurance that the military offensive against the sect would be sustained.
More details later.
