Former captain of Super Eagles, Austin Jay Jay Okocha, has advised the Dream Team VI not to get their hopes high, as they cannot acquire wealth by playing for the country. Okocha made this revelation during a recent visit to Internally Displaced People (IDP) camp in celebration of his 43rd birthday.
“You can’t get rich playing for Nigeria, you will get exposure and touch lives,”
“We have to look beyond match bonuses when playing for our country.”
“The decision to take the flight to Germany took away poverty from my family."
