Now, Olympic superstar and teammate Michael Phelps is weighting in on Lochte’s legal troubles.
The 23 gold medalist was asked about Lochte while exiting a Starbucks in Scottsdale, AZ on Friday Aug. 19, when asked if his blonde-haired teammate will be able to survive the legal controversy, Phelps sounded confident.
“We have good people taking care of us, so hopefully,” he told E! News.

In his statement (screenshot above), Lochte fessed up to not being totally honest with authorities and stately that he regretted stealing the spotlight from athletes competing on the international stage.

Lochte could face up to three years in prison, however the general consensus is he’s not going be charged.
